2023 – New Year: New focus

I am unsure if it is reassuring or concerning to me that the overall consensus is we are collectively relieved to see the end of 2022.

Personally, 2022 was filled with incredible highs and heart-breaking lows. However, as part of my ongoing mission to become the best version of myself every day, I won’t be dwelling on the past, and I am working towards positioning 2023 as a better year than the last three years have been.

I pull out my little pink notebook at the end of each year, something I have done since 2009. I like to set goals for each year and cross it out as I accomplish them. I don’t complete every goal, and some have been passed on year after year (like learning dutch). I find it’s a great way to reflect on my own personal development, and a small reminder of what I chose to focus on that year.

I know that for me, 2023 will be a memorable year. It is my final year in my 30s, which has given me the incentive to take on a new project for self-growth. I have compiled my own 40 before 40 challenge, to be completed by my 40th birthday. I am not sure if I will video record my process, keep a blog to track it, or just cross each challenge off from my book. Either way, whatever I decide, I still want to share my list here with the virtual world to keep myself accountable. Wish me luck!
